Certificates

Out of respect for people, animals and the environment, we rely on selected materials such as organic cotton, linen, TENCEL™, LENZING™ ECOVERO™ and recycled fibres such as REPREVE®. Depending on the item, our products are certified to different, independently verified standards.

Please note: a label only ever applies to the products for which it is shown. You can find out which certification applies to an item on its product page under “Production Details”.

Certificate documents on request

For data protection and company policy reasons, we do not publish certificate documents on our website. On request, we will be happy to send you the relevant evidence: info@organication.de.

1. Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS)

The Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) is an internationally recognised standard for textiles made from organically produced natural fibres. It covers the entire textile processing chain – from ginning and fibre preparation through spinning, weaving, knitting and dyeing to garment manufacturing – and combines environmental requirements (e.g. for chemicals and wastewater) with minimum social criteria for workers.

Products labelled “organic” contain at least 95% certified organic fibres; products labelled “made with organic” contain at least 70%. Compliance is verified by independent, accredited certification bodies.

At ORGANICATION, selected items are GOTS-certified. You can see whether a product is one of them on its product page.

2. & 3. Organic Content Standard (OCS 100 / OCS Blended)

The Organic Content Standard (OCS) by the non-profit Textile Exchange verifies the amount of organically grown material in a product and ensures its traceability from the farm to the final product. The companies involved are audited by independent certification bodies.

  • OCS 100: the product contains at least 95% organically grown material.
  • OCS Blended: the product contains at least 5% organically grown material, blended with other fibres.

The OCS relates to the organic content and its traceability; it does not contain its own requirements on chemicals or working conditions in processing. The exact organic content is stated in the material composition of each product.

4. Global Recycled Standard (GRS)

The Global Recycled Standard (GRS) by Textile Exchange verifies recycled materials in products and ensures their traceability along the supply chain. Products with at least 20% recycled material can be certified; at least 50% is required to label a final product with the GRS logo.

In addition to recycled content, the GRS includes requirements on social conditions, environmental management and chemical use at the certified sites, which are verified by independent bodies.

5. & 6. Recycled Claim Standard (RCS 100 / RCS Blended)

The Recycled Claim Standard (RCS) by Textile Exchange verifies the amount of recycled material in a product and ensures its traceability from recycling to the final product.

  • RCS 100: the product contains at least 95% recycled material.
  • RCS Blended: the product contains at least 5% recycled material, blended with other fibres.

The RCS relates to the recycled content and its traceability; unlike the GRS, it does not contain requirements on chemicals or working conditions. The exact recycled content is stated in the material composition of each product.

7. Responsible Wool Standard (RWS)

The Responsible Wool Standard (RWS) by Textile Exchange sets requirements for the welfare of sheep (based on the “Five Freedoms”) and for land management on the farms. Mulesing is prohibited under the RWS. The farms and the subsequent stages of the supply chain are certified by independent bodies.

At ORGANICATION, we use RWS-certified wool for selected wool products.

8. PETA-Approved Vegan

The PETA-Approved Vegan label from the animal rights organisation PETA identifies clothing and accessories that contain no animal-derived materials such as wool, silk, leather or down. Participating companies confirm this to PETA in a signed statement.

Selected ORGANICATION products carry this label – you can recognise them by the information on the product page.

9. TENCEL™ Lyocell and Modal

TENCEL™ is a fibre brand of Lenzing AG (Austria), not a certification standard. TENCEL™ Lyocell and Modal fibres are cellulose fibres made from wood which, according to the manufacturer, comes from certified and controlled sources. According to Lenzing, Lyocell is produced in a closed-loop process in which the solvent is largely recovered and reused.

We value TENCEL™ for its softness, breathability and good moisture management.

10. LENZING™ ECOVERO™

LENZING™ ECOVERO™ is a viscose fibre brand of Lenzing AG. The fibres have been awarded the EU Ecolabel and are made from wood from certified and controlled sources. According to the manufacturer, their production generates up to 50% lower emissions and water impact compared to generic viscose.

We use LENZING™ ECOVERO™ for selected products because the fibres are soft, fluid and comfortable to wear.
