TENCEL™ Lyocell & Modal at ORGANICATION
TENCEL™ is a fibre brand of the Austrian company Lenzing AG. We use TENCEL™ Lyocell and TENCEL™ Modal for clothing that is soft, breathable and pleasant on the skin.
What makes TENCEL™ special
1. Made from wood
TENCEL™ fibres are cellulose fibres made from wood. According to Lenzing, the wood comes from certified and controlled sources (e.g. FSC® or PEFC™).
2. Closed loop
According to the manufacturer, TENCEL™ Lyocell is produced in a closed-loop process in which over 99% of the solvent is recovered and reused.
3. Moisture management
The fibres absorb moisture well and release it again – for a comfortable feel.
4. Soft and smooth
TENCEL™ has a smooth fibre surface and feels particularly soft on the skin.
5. Keeps its shape
TENCEL™ Modal in particular retains its shape, softness and colour even after many washes.
6. Versatile
From T-shirts and dresses to underwear and loungewear – TENCEL™ is suitable for many garments.
Lyocell and Modal – the difference
- TENCEL™ Lyocell is made from wood pulp using a solvent spinning process. The fibre is strong, smooth and particularly good at regulating moisture.
- TENCEL™ Modal is made mainly from beech wood. The fibre is especially soft and flexible and ideal for clothing worn close to the skin.
